Frequently Asked Questions
- Could a fluid change solve my problem?
-
Your transmission problem could possibly be resolved by a simple transmission fluid change. Depending on the symptoms, a fluid change, along with replacing the filter and making the necessary adjustments, may solve the problems you are experiencing with your transmission. If the transmission has an internal problem, a fluid change will not remedy the situation. In any event, the vehicle will have be evaluated as part of our Comprehensive Transmission Ananlysis.
- What types of guarantees does Bill Taylor’s Transmission offer?
-
All of our work is guaranteed. Depending on the extent of the work required, Bill Taylor's Transmission offers various warranties from 6 month/6,000 miles, up to a Lifetime Guarantee, if the vehicle qualifies. Our warranties are based on the extent of the work that is performed.
- How long will the COMPREHENSIVE TRANSMISSION ANALYSIS take?
-
The transmission analysis can take up to 45 minutes. This service includes two initial road tests, one with our electronic scanner, an external inspection while the vehicle is on the lift and a pan examination. Our customers are encouraged to wait, and are welcome to participate while this service is being performed. If the Comprehensive Transmission Analysis indicates a repair is needed, and if you choose to have the repairs done, the repairs can be completed within one to two business days in most cases.
- What will be the cost for repairs?
-
The cost involved for repairs on your transmission will depend solely upon the condition of the transmission. In order for us to properly assess the condition of your transmission, we will first perform our free COMPREHENSIVE TRANSMISSION ANALYSIS, which includes a full and complete road test and external examination. Most late model vehicles are electronically controlled, so it may be that the symptoms that you are experiencing could be something other than a transmission problem. If the free comprehensive transmission analysis indicates an internal problem, we will need to perform our Remove, Dismantle and Inspect (RDI) Service to give you an exact cost of repair. You will be notified before a RDI is performed and your authorization will be required before we can perform this service.
